Happy Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day.
Food and nutrition means something different to everyone.
It is personal, it is private, it is sensitive, it is unique.
Just like a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Today is the day I celebrate all the greatness within our profession. I celebrate our differences, our similarities, our specialities and our passions. I celebrate our desire to be resourceful in helping the world with nutrition. It is not an easy task and thank goodness we are all different to meet that need. I celebrate our dedication to our education, to realizing there are flaws and our willingness to be more inclusive for everyone who finds their purpose residing in dietetics.
This year has been a reminder that nothing comes easy and there is always room to be better and to do better. To not become complacent to how things are always done. This is the year, we rise together to make the change and then be the change. This is the year we realize time is not endless and there is no time like the present to be the registered dietitian nutritionist we always have wanted to be.
No one will celebrate this day like your fellow RDN (or maybe their heartbeats), so I ask you to celebrate each other. No matter your differences or beliefs, we are all on the same team. Right now, this unification is when it means the most.
