Have you ever bought something you really didn't need and just wanted?
I have.
Within the last few years, I have moments where I question my actions and I usually end up taking it back. Those moments are fewer and fewer because taking things back is exhausting. I have truly found the less stuff I posses the more meaning I find in my life.
We will forever "want" things but the key is how to determine the need for things. Does it bring joy? Does it free up time? Does it make difficulties in your life easier?
I am on a "no buy July" (with a deep desire to be on a no buy until NEXT July, we will see what happens) to refocus on what means the most to me in life: people, adventures, sleep and less clutter. I will only buy necessities like toilet paper, soap and food, being mindful of even those needs. I know I probably will not be perfect, but I know it will give me a renewed sense of self because I truly have everything I need.
Would you do a whole month without buying the basics?
