Kids In the Kitchen

A few weeks ago, I had this little man helping me whip up some delicious food for dinner. He loved just being around the action, even if he did not do much "cooking."

Do you involved your kids in the kitchen? Do they know how to read a recipe, measure and season? I think it is so important to get them started at an early age. If they are involved in the process, kids are more likely to try new foods and dishes. They have an investment in what goes on their plate. It also creates excitement and pride in something they helped with.

Wouldn't it melt your heart if this little guy served you something he made for dinner? (Even if it was a plate of his favorite french style green beans from a can he opened.)
