How many times a week do you go for seconds at dinner time? If it is more than 2-3 times a week, it is time to check yourself on a few things. If you answer "yes" to more than 3 of the below, it is time for a meal makeover.
Does it take you less than 20 minutes to eat a meal?
Do you eat standing up?
Do you watch T.V. while eating?
Is half your plate filled with starchy foods?
Is 1/4 of your plate a serving of lean protein?
Do you consume beverages other than milk and water with meals?
Do you go back for seconds or thirds?
Do you put all the food on the table?
Think about these questions and really look at meal time. It is very important to take time to eat your meals, chew your food, taste and smell your food. It is very important to keep distractions down, like TV and reading the newspaper. If you are finding that meals last seconds instead of minutes, take a step back and change your thinking.
