I've started to notice that when I spend too much time taking in the world around me, I have less to give back to it.
The more I scroll, watch, listen, and absorb other people's thoughts and opinions, the less creative and thoughtful I feel. My mind is full, but somehow, I'm contributing less. I'm less inspired to create, less intentional in my actions, and less focused on the good I could be putting into the world.
It makes me wonder: what would happen if we consumed a little less and created a little more?
What if we made more room for our own ideas, meaningful conversations, quiet reflection, and simple acts of kindness?
I believe we are each here with gifts to share. Maybe yours is the ability to teach, encourage, create, make someone laugh, or help another person feel seen. Whatever those gifts are, the world benefits when we use them.
But we have to leave room for them.
Perhaps it's time to be a little more intentional about what we consume and a little more generous with what we contribute.
Less scrolling. More creating. Less noise. More connection. Less absorbing everyone else's world, and more actively participating in our own.
We weren't put here just to consume what the world offers us. We were given gifts to give back to it.
What could you contribute if you made a little more room for yourself?
