What is something you have been craving?
I bet when you saw this question you instantly thought of a delicious food that has been on your mind. When I wrote it, my mouth began to water thinking about my moms chocolate cake, gosh it's so good. But what I really want you to do is to not think of food and really think about what you are craving in life.
Cravings do not have to be food. Cravings can be the desire for adventure, change, having a calm week, planning a vacation, getting a good night sleep or even having time to make the one food you have been craving. Before you take action on any of those cravings, you have to do a little work on the millions of thoughts dashing through your mind.
When you tend to your thoughts and I mean really getting to the nitty gritty of them, strong cravings seem to lose their steam. Cravings are just distractions to what you really need to be focused on. We only crave what we don't have with food and in life.
The next time you are craving something, pull all those thoughts out of your head and write them down to give them a little organization and context. This will help you figure out what you really need right now. And I bet, it's not really a beach vacation or a piece of moms chocolate cake.
